About Minnie and Moon

I’m Emma, the owner of Minnie and Moon, a San Francisco native living outside Philadelphia. In addition to running a small business, I am a passionate  home cook, gardener, dance teacher, creative spirit, and mom to two boys.

The company is named after my grandmothers. Minnie ran the family hardware store in San Francisco. Through her side of the family I started visiting European tool factories at an early age to see how good quality tools were produced, learning the difference between items that look nice and those that really last. Moon (a nickname for Margaret) was the descendant of Danish homesteaders who landed on the California coast. She passed down the practical skills of gardening, cooking, and creating a warm and cozy home, as well as imparting  a resourceful and waste-free mindset. Their influences are what inspire the products we sell.

I am committed to using Minnie and Moon as a way to uplift other small businesses and support women in our community.  We operate with a strong sense of environmental stewardship, working to find quality, long lasting products, as well as shipping and packaging responsibly, while  reducing waste throughout our operations.

You won’t find anything at Minnie and Moon that I don’t use and love myself. I hope you enjoy our treasures as much as I do!
